THE GRATES + WHYTE FANG

The Grates do some pretty accessible indie pop music. I use to love 19 20 20 a few years back. The new stuff is good…but it doesn’t make me want to go out and grab it. Then came Sydney lass Whyte Fang. She’s gone and messed with 5 tracks from The Grates. And yikes. It’s dark, brooding electronica. Not exactly what you might have immediately thought when you heard The Grates were getting remixed.

It’s hard to pick a fave off the EP, but I think the closer Crying All Night is pretty amazing. Sounds absolutely nothing like the original, but yet Patience’s voice suits the sound so very well. That and the slow dark groove that is Turn Me On. We got both streams down below…and make sure you grab it on iTunes.
