I got a weakness. It’s good ol’ guitar driven pop.
There’s a bunch of local lads, Celadore, who do just that, and do it pretty darn well.
We’ve written about Celadore before, and have spoken of their insanely catchy hook driven power pop. The guys have a new EP out, The Bright And Blue, out through Popboomerang records. It’s a tight collection of four tracks, with some absolutely stellar song writing. These guys know how to craft a song like there’s no tomorrow. The EP was produced by Chris Cheney of The Living End, and for a first go, sounds pretty great.
My definite fave off the EP would be Bakery, the opening track. It’s a pretty brash in your face kinda track. The guys are out on a 16 date run so make sure you check ’em out. Dates in that poster up above. More deets over here.
Celadore are three dudes from Melbourne who make some pretty sweet as indie pop. Super talented songwriters these guys. Catchy and hooks galore…have not been able to get this song out of my head. I’m not usually a fan of this kinda more poppy stuff, but when it’s written well and it has insanely good hooks, then it’s kinda hard to ignore! The boys are on PopBoomerang records who support some really awesome local indie pop. Check that label out!
The guys are currently on a Vic tour launching their debut EP Distance Is A Gun. Check out the deets over at their myspace.
