If you’re in or around Melbourne, you most likely would have heard the name Tessa & The Typecast. They’ve been gigging around for a while, and have just finished recording their debut EP, Lemons. The EP features lead track, Painter (you’ll probably know this one) as well as another 4 tracks. It’s that kinda female led indie stuff that the local scene seems to be frothing at lately. Great sounding vocals, piano led band. Also comes complete with cello for good measure aye!

Lead single Painter is actually really nice. It’s got a really great almost staccato xylophone (i think) motif going throughout that’s pretty nicely complemented by this nice warm cello sound. When the bass kicks in, it kicks. We got Painter down below.
