How did I not notice these guys earlier?
Out of Portland, over there in the states, Light For Fire do some of the most lovely indie folk I’ve heard in quite some time.
Anyways, new single, The Huckster is a nice bit of guitar strummed self-loathing. Reminds me of the Juno soundtrack…which is a good thing. Apart from the ‘I know it’s all my fault’ line, it is a bit of a friendship song to me – importance of having someone with you etc. Check it out if you’re after a nice finish to your Sunday afternoon.

So most of you probably know the track Living In America by US kid Dom. It’s a fun track getting massive rotation on Triple J down here. Poindexter has had his way with the original making it into some funky electro jam full of percussion. Poindexter is out of Portland, again in the states. We featured his remix of Fences by some small unknown band called Venus…oh no, wait, i got that wrong. Think they’re called Phoenix? Ha. Maybe. (Oh man, did you see what I did there?? Am I just not the most hilarious/stupidest person ever?)
