brand-x-ing

two much loved things, finally together at last…

We’ve never posted a mash-up before…but here goes.

BRAND-X is out of London who’s only been going for 6 months or so after teaching himself Fruity Loops. He’s put together the Boys Noize remix of Late of The Pier’s Focker and the Beastie Boys classic Intergalactic. Is a pretty massif sound and the tracks work freakin well together. You can also check out another BRAND-X mash-up of Major Lazer and Kelis over at fellow Aussie (but a shit load better) blog, Trashbag Kids.

Anyway, give this dude some blog love and heart the hell out of it when it hits Hype Machine.

the masters

the masters...well they probably weren't gorillas

ok. so there’s no secret that if you want the perfect sounding house track, Fred Falke is definitely a dude to check out. Sounding awesome summery, there’s something (wanker word coming up) soaring about the remixes he’s done. But then he goes solo…and manages, in my books, to still sound pretty ‘soaring’. Released last week, the Chicago EP dropped (check it out here on beatport). I’m going to make the claim that the, what I guess could be considered, B side, Back To Stay is actually the better of the two. Chicago is a good track, but it’s a bit boring. a little tiny bit. doesn’t build, stays the same. But still sounds pretty darn good because it’s been produced by Fred Falke. Anyway, here’s the B side, as well as his remix of the Miami Horror track Make You Mine that dropped a few weeks ago.

Last for the list is that dude Erol Alkan with that other dude Boys Noize. This one dropped last week I think so is pretty fresh. It’s part of a 12″ coming out at the end of the month. The other track, Death Suite is definitely different to the track listed below. Death Suite is pretty techno-ish and blippy. Very nice though. Waves is as thumping, but a little more melodic…a little more in the same style as the other ‘master’ i’ve written about just above.

I’m going to admit to a little ignorance here and say that whilst I have heard a bit of these guys, I don’t know much about them…but now I think I will investigate them both…not in a creepy way though…just a normal, sane, non-psychotic way. Yeah, cool!
