ok. Something a little messed up to end the weekend. heartsrevolution are a guy/girl duo out of Manhattan. They’ve signed to Kitsune, and are set to release their debut album later this year.
But first, they got Are We Having Fun Yet, a mixtape dropping at the end of the month via their website. The first track taken from the tape is I.D. or Investigation Discovery. It has this choppy beat that I can only just feel. It’s got these lazy vocals sitting over the top. and then there’s this string riff that echoes right throughout. I dig it. It’s one of those tracks that makes you feel excited when you’re listening to it. There’s an eagerness in there too (especially with that beat – it’s like it just wants to go straight four, but then it skips, and you end up with this 3 and a half groove). Anyway, all in all, really nice beat ladden off-pop track. Looking forward to the mixtape in a week and a bit.
