ring tricks with zebra’s

well…not really. Beach House released Teen Dream a little while back and I raved on about it, calling it pop perfection. One of my fave tracks off the disc was Zebra…and lo and behold. What just dropped in my inbox? A remix of that track.

And man.

The remixer in question is a guy by the name of Ring Trick and is from San Francisco. He’s got a few other remixes under his belt too (Passion Pit, Cutters, and Radiohead) which are all pretty darn impressive. I think what’s cool about Ring Trick is the fact that he has a pretty distinct sound. For Zebra, he’s cut that beat up. Got this 6/8 beat goin, but with accents on the 2, 4 and 6 instead of just the 4. Beat reminds me of Maps & Compasses by Goodnight Owl actually. And then it kinda glides, washes over you, takes you away from it all. Anyway, I definitely recommend checking this one. It won’t dissapoint.
