So…I got thinking

I think this blog is a changing. Well…not changing as such…but getting an actual theme.

I’ve been looking online for a while for a good music blog, and whilst I’ve found a few good ones (real Horrorshow tunes is probably one of the better ones), i’m still yet to find a good Aussie one.

So…I was kinda thinking that this could become a music blog or sorts. I will still post the od nonsense post about everyday going ons too though…so don’t stress…coz I know you just love my churning out of crap ability!

So yeah, in weeks to come, stay tuned for some new tunes, stuff i’m getting into, album reviews, gig reviews etc.

To get the shit going, I think perhaps a brief review of what I saw of the Bacardi Express Tour will be a good place to start.

The promo material reads “FIVE BANDS   ONE TRAIN   FOUR CITIES   ONE HELL OF A RIDE”. I got to see 3 bands (plus the 2 filler acts), got no train, only one city, and the ride was good, but kinda a little TOO LOUD (yes, the caps were meant to add the effect of me talking loudly…didn’t work??!!), with constant feedback. Whilst the loud noise may be the way to go with these cool young people and their rock and roll gigs, it would’ve been good to hear what Declan Melia, singer from British India was saying in between songs.

British India were definately the highlight of the night. I might just have a new favourite band here…behind Van She and Cutters of course. They played a solid set, and they’re drummer is bloody tight. Great sound live and they actually looked good onstage. Standout track was definately God Is Dead, Meet The Kids and Run The Red Light.

I did miss out on Van She though due to a problem I had understanding the lineup order. In hindsight, it was a pretty easy lineup order to get my head around. Haha…oh well. Still need to catch a full set from those guys…

*just went on a google search for Van She tourdates and just realised they’re supporting The Presets. I turned down tickets to this gig because it’s at Festival Hall (I dislike the venue). Am going to do my hardest to win tix now!!!*

Anyway, I diverge. When we rocked up to the gig, we saw some of Bluejuice’s set. I’d only heard of Vitriol (check this track out. Awesome intro!). Their other stuff is good, but they’re not amazing.

The only other band we saw that night was Groove Armada. They were ok (we left early – not an amazing set and my friend had work in the morning). I thought they would play a bit more of their own stuff.

Probably most interesting of the night was a guy called Beardyman. He’s a beatboxer from the UK (apparently he won the UK Beatboxing title two years running a few years ago). He merged all types. Hip Hop, Techno, Bit of Seven Nation Army stuff, and a bit of other stuff.

Anywho, that’s about it for me i think. I’m liking this music blog idea. What do you guys reckon??? Feedback is Ace.

K. That’ll do the ramble for now.

So I finally found the site I was thinking of….and it’s not 2 years old! There are updates that have been recent!
I really should use the ‘bookmarks’ feature in my browser….
